I Mignani

I Mignani is a private residence dating back to the second half of the XVI century situated in the historical centre of Lecce; it was created by combining into a single property three separate houses with courtyards located between Via Vittorio de Prioli and Via Scipione da Summa. A “mignano” is a typical Salentine house with a courtyard; it is characterized by balconies, often richly decorated, which overlook the street and from which in the past women could enjoy local events and festivities. The complex “I Mignani”, which has a conservation order by the local superintendence of artistic and architectural heritage, has three storeys (cellar, ground floor and first floor) and is currently under careful and expert restoration at the end of which there will be six autonomous apartments of various sizes with a common sun terrace and garage. Ideal for tourists or visitors, it can accommodate up to 18 guests, who can book either the whole structure or any of the individual apartments.
